In my work as a costume designer, I critically investigate historical periods that have profoundly impacted society. I enjoy designing historical plays as I am drawn to reconstructing period silhouettes and iterating on them with modern ideas and flare. In my designs for The Revolutionist, I combined period silhouettes with modern fabrics and prints to create an imaginative world where the modern language of Lauren Gunderson collides with the à la mode of the French Revolution.
